We Are All Carers

Rewild, Reset, and Reconnect

The decline in human-nature interactions significantly threatens human and environmental health.

As urbanization continues to rise, we are increasingly disconnected from the natural world, from the reciprocity and gifts found in the natural world, leading to a catastrophic loss of biodiversity and adverse effects on physical, mental, social, and spiritual health.

Eco Gerontology emphasizes the importance of the natural environment in supporting all domains of livability and advocates for nature-connected and community-based solutions to our most pressing social and environmental challenges.

By rewilding care, we rekindle our connection with nature, caring for each other and the ecosystems that sustain us; we can co-create a healthier and more sustainable future for current and future generations

Are you ready to learn and practice evidence-based tools to rewild your care, from the comfort of your home?

Rewilding Care Retreat Schedule

'I am on a retreat to restore and renew!’

This At-Home Retreat includes 6 live, 45-minute sessions, and you'll receive a full retreat schedule to transform your Friday evening through Sunday evening into a healing retreat experience.

Research has shown that turning your home into a weekend retreat can inspire happiness and vitality that lasts into the week ahead.

As highlighted in the study Happiness From Treating the Weekend Like a Vacation, when people treated their weekend like a vacation, they spent less time on unenjoyable tasks and focused more on the present moment, which led to greater happiness throughout the weekend.

The simple six-word prompt:

treat the weekend like a vacationhelped people engage more fully in the present, without any explicit instructions or training.

For this retreat, I inspire you to step away from your usual routine and immerse yourself in a nurturing, reflective, and connecting experience—one you can carry with you as we navigate these extraordinary times.

Preparing For Your Retreat

re·wild: to return to a more natural or wild state – to make or become natural or wild again

This program is designed as an At-Home Healing Retreat so you can deeply digest the content and experience the restorative power of Nature, without outward distractions.

This retreat is your time to leave the everyday routine and begin a nourishing practice for your care and the care you share.

Preparing Your Retreat Space

I encourage you to dedicate a room in your home to serve as your indoor retreat learning space.

Ensure this space is clear of clutter and that you have a comfortable sitting area.

It is also a good idea to give your entire home a good 'spring' cleaning; this will remove stagnated dust, and the act of cleaning will offer an opportunity to connect with your home, clearing away the old and generating space for the new.

I inspire you to clean outdoor areas you can use for program practices as well.

Preparing Your Inner Space

Your retreat is an intentional time to connect with the Nature Experience.

Letting family and friends know when you will be on retreat is an excellent idea, as this will help limit distractions.

You may even want to put an auto-reply on your email so you won't be distracted while on the program site.

In addition, I encourage you to plan your meals and stock up on provisions, including treaty teas and snacks.

The retreat has three daily sessions: morning, afternoon, and early evening, leaving plenty of time for meals, resting, walking, and reflection.

Like attending an in-person retreat, it is good to have the laundry and other household chores done ahead of time.
